History of the Library. The Alexandria Public Library was formed as the result of efforts made by the Community Council. The library was legally first opened on Thursday evening, June 13, 1935 in the township house (small building on West Main Street) with 524 books borrowed from the State Library of Ohio to use for circulation.
Alexandria does a good job at keeping the library check out process smooth. It also has good sound notifications when there is an alert. Going back and forth between check out mode and book drop can be frustrating as it does not immediately go back to check out when a patron barcode is scanned.
